Candace Dickinson, MA, LMHC, NATC, EMDRIA CIT

Early in both my personal and professional life, I developed a profound passion for compassion and healing, which led me to explore the complexities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (cPTSD). My educational journey took me to the esteemed Boston University School of Medicine, where I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine. This experience not only deepened my understanding of trauma but also highlighted the importance of personal growth. My journey through my own cPTSD therapy profoundly shaped my perspective and commitment to offering effective, transformative treatments.

Today, my practice is rooted in an integrative approach that draws from my diverse certifications and experiences. I am certified through Evergreen in Narcissistic Abuse Treatment, which provides a specialized lens for supporting clients navigating the complex dynamics of narcissistic relationships. My use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has been transformative, helping clients release deeply embedded traumatic memories. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), which has become a powerful option for those seeking deeper access to their healing process.

Understanding that trauma impacts both the body and mind, I integrate somatic therapies that help clients reconnect with and process physical sensations. For those interested, I offer Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) as an optional tool to support nervous system regulation, and I incorporate Heart Rate Variability (HRV) techniques to foster resilience and emotional balance.

My love for group work is central to my practice. While I currently offer one group, my hope is to expand and provide additional groups focused on Narcissistic Abuse recovery, trauma resilience, and learning HRV techniques. I believe in the power of shared experiences and co-regulation, creating safe spaces where clients can connect, be witnessed, and find solidarity in their healing journeys.

Additionally, I am committed to making my services as accessible as possible, and part of that commitment involves taking insurance to reduce financial barriers for my clients.

Beyond direct client work, I have a deep passion for supporting and building up fellow clinicians. With experience in supervising, I understand the importance of helping clinicians grow beyond administrative tasks. My focus is on nurturing their clinical skills and supporting their development as trauma-informed professionals. I believe that fostering a community of trauma-informed professionals is essential for creating lasting change. By mentoring and collaborating with other therapists, I aim to contribute to a stronger, more empathetic field that continues to evolve and meet the needs of those we serve.

Throughout all modalities, I prioritize education about cPTSD, empowering clients to understand their experiences and feel equipped to engage in deeper work at their own pace.

My goal is to offer a compassionate, integrative, and empowering approach to healing, meeting each client where they are while providing the tools and support to foster lasting transformation.

Individualized care is truly a cornerstone of healing from cPTSD, and I am genuinely glad to say that we will collaborate closely to determine what approaches are best suited for you and what resonates most deeply with your unique healing journey.
